A day at the beach.

(In reality, it was a long weekend at the beach.)

I thought about cutting off the strangely overexposed right side, but somehow, I like the sight of it. It adds to the roughness of the scene. Looks like a picture from days long gone.

But those are only my thoughts, what are yours?

Cloud factory

It was so easy to believe as a kid. What's all that smoke coming from those chimneys? It's the factory where they make clouds. Almost all factories made them, back then. That's why there's lots of clouds, I suppose.

In this case, it is actually quite true. No scary chemicals, just plain old water vapour (yes, also a chemical, but not really a scary one, is it?). No harm done.

Continuing the loosely bound series that started here.

Same location as the previous two shots (you can just make out the yacht club in the background), same details as the distant giants (except for the lens used).

I went back to that same location and its environments today, just got back with 3 rolls of 35mm B&W film, so I've got some processing to do! :-)

This yacht club --or at least this building-- has probably seen better days.

Olympus XA2 ("with", so I read recently, "its telltale vignetting") with outdated Fuji Sensia 400 (thanks, Erwin).

(Bonus question: can you spot the reference to a Leonard Cohen song in this photo?)

Impossible Garden

Just to show you a shot taken with the re-invented Polaroid film by Impossible.

Sure, no "high-definition" material. But... I kinda like the unpredictable "lo-fi" look. Always a surprise. I've taken some more shots, and it's fun to see the colour of this B&W (or perhaps "monochrome" is a better term) material. Developed at the currently quite high room temperature, the end result is red-brown, but I've also tried to develop one shot for the first few minutes in the fridge, then the rest at room temperature, and that is actually quite black and white.

I might post some more examples/experiments in the future. Just thought I'd show this one for now.

Polaroid 600 camera, Impossible PX 600 FF instant film.
